“Starry Night” is possibly one of the most popular paintings in history, created by, in my opinion, one of the most interesting artists in history; Vincent Van Gogh. This artist is influenced me through my art. Their authentic style and creativity has inspired me to try new things. I can connect to this artist because they have so many different types of artworks out there (paintings, oil canvas, graphite, etc.) and they don’t really follow a “theme” with their artworks - they’re always different. That’s how I like to work. I like to work with all art mediums, and just create what I’m thinking - not just follow the same theme each time.
Their painting style is unique, because he has more of a longer stroke style with a paintbrush rather than a dab, as shown in “Starry Night”. Also, with an oil artwork called “Sunflowers”, the lines he made didn’t really define where the colour ended.
The way the colours in their art compliment the feeling. Yellow and orange colours portray happiness, like in "Sunflower". They use value in their art by having paintings with mostly bright, happy colours (yellow, pinks, oranges) or dark colours (blacks, purples, navy blues).
Vincent Van Gogh is a fantastic and authentic artist with so many underrated artworks. They have inspired me to be creative with my art and the way I see the world.
